Ingredients
PASTA
- 1 pack of fusili pasta
SAUCE
- 3 tomatoes, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp pepper paste
- 1 teaspoon basil flakes
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
TOPPING optional
- 4-5 whole kalamata or green olives
- Fresh basil
- Red pepper flakes
Directions
- Heat a large pan over medium heat. Once hot, add olive oil, garlic, pepper paste and tomato. Sauté for 5 minutes, stirring frequently.
- Add all the spices to the sauce and stir to combine.
- Bring the sauce to a simmer. Continue cooking for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Cook pasta according to package instructions at this time. Then drain and set aside.
- Sample pasta sauce and adjust seasonings as needed.
- Add pasta to the sauce and toss to coat.
- Serve with optional toppings.
